Out of control bushfires, unmeasurable floods and a global pandemic - are just some of the devastating events to have taken place on our home planet of late. These cataclysmic events have shaken the very core of all of our lives in one way or another. It can be described as one almighty wake up call for many of us and has shifted our way of thinking, the way we do business, the way in which we live and the way we connect. It has provided nature some much needed time to recover and reset, and has forced us all to slow down to finally have the space to delve into what truly matters to us as individuals and as a collective. I believe that when travesty and sorrow takes place, growth and evolution follows.
Being in the business of bringing purposeful brands to life, I have witnessed firsthand the rise of the purposeful entrepreneur. Over the past year, it has been so incredible to see people come to me to create the brand of their dreams. Whether it be that they have suffered the loss of their job or business, it has pushed them towards introspection and provided them with the courage to finally pursue what they truly want to create for themselves, their family and at the core of it all - make the world a better place. It is the most inspiring movement from which not only are new businesses being born but also where existing businesses are taking a long hard look at their ways of being, resetting their essence, their vision and mission and taking beautiful action. Not only this but us as consumers are becoming consciously minded as an audience and driving the charge towards this shift in the way we consume. It is something so powerful and I for one hope the momentum for change continues once we are on the other side of this pandemic.

We all have at one point or another felt the weight of the world on our shoulders (literally). I absolutely understand it’s a lot - balancing optimism and action is a tiring job. I think in the past we have all felt too small to be able to make an impact and have simply thrown our arms in the air and declared it to be all too hard, then fallen into a comfy, less challenging position of apathy. However, since we are all going through such monumental change in our lives as a collective planet - empathy has ensued to open our eyes to how easy it is to connect and align with those that share our values across land and sea. This albeit sad yet shared experience has brought us all together and we now feel empowered to take wonderful, considered action as one.
